Spanish mistakes it catches

  • Accents: está/esta, él/el, sí/si, más/mas, and question words such as qué, cómo and dónde.
  • Agreement: articles and adjectives that do not match the noun’s gender or number, such as “la problema” or “los casa”.
  • Punctuation: a missing opening ¿ on questions, comma use and spacing.
  • Commonly confused words: porque/por qué, echo/hecho, and qué/que in exclamations.
  • Spelling: misspelled and mistyped words, with likely corrections.

It does not judge every subjunctive or ser/estar choice: many depend on meaning the rules cannot see. Treat each suggestion as a suggestion and proofread afterwards.

Spanish grammar checker questions

Is the Spanish grammar checker free?

Yes. It is free with no account, for texts up to 20,000 characters per check. The open checking service allows about 20 checks a minute from one connection.

Does it fix Spanish accents?

It flags many missing or wrong accents, such as esta/está, el/él, tu/tú, mas/más and que/qué in questions, and offers the accented form. Accents that change meaning depend on context, so read each suggestion before applying it.

Will it explain my mistakes in English?

The explanations come from the Spanish rule set, so most are written in Spanish. The highlighted words and the suggested corrections make the fix clear even if you are still learning.

Is my text sent anywhere?

Your text goes from your browser straight to the public LanguageTool API (LanguageTool GmbH), which returns the suggestions. isGenAI does not receive or store it. Avoid pasting confidential material into any online checker.

Can it check Latin American and European Spanish?

Yes. The Spanish rules cover both, and vocabulary that is normal in one region is generally not marked as an error.
