AI disclosure generator: write a clear label for AI-made content
Choose the content type and how AI was used to get a short label, a full disclosure statement and the matching IPTC digital source type you can embed in the file. It is free and runs in your browser.

Where to use each output
- Short label: image captions, video overlays, thumbnail badges and social posts.
- Disclosure statement: descriptions, article footers, credits, course submissions and client deliverables.
- IPTC digital source type: the file’s metadata, so platforms and tools can read the disclosure even when the caption is lost. Check what a file already carries with the AI image detector or the EXIF viewer.
Labels are stripped more often than you think
Screenshots, re-exports and many uploads remove embedded metadata, and captions do not travel with reposts. In isGenAI’s own test, X removed every provenance record we uploaded, including C2PA and the IPTC AI label (see the study). For important content, combine a visible label with signed Content Credentials, and keep the original file.

Questions about AI disclosures
What should an AI disclosure say?
Say plainly that the content was generated or edited with AI, and, if useful, which tool was used and whether a person reviewed it. A short label such as “AI-generated image” works for captions and overlays; a full sentence works for descriptions, credits and article footers.
Does the EU AI Act require an AI disclosure?
Article 50 of the EU AI Act sets transparency obligations that apply from 2 August 2026, including disclosure of deepfakes and of AI-generated text published to inform the public, with exceptions. Whether it applies to you depends on your role and use; read isGenAI’s Article 50 guide and take legal advice for your case.
What is the IPTC digital source type?
It is a standard metadata field that records how media was made. “trainedAlgorithmicMedia” marks content created by a trained AI model, and “compositeWithTrainedAlgorithmicMedia” marks content that combines AI-generated elements with other material. Platforms such as Meta read it to apply AI labels.
Is anything I type uploaded?
No. The generator runs entirely in your browser and stores nothing.
