Check any image for AI evidence with one right-click

The free isGenAI extension reads an image’s Content Credentials (C2PA), AI labels and saved prompts without leaving the page. Right-click, choose Check image with isGenAI and see the evidence in Chrome’s side panel.

Right-click any image

“Check image with isGenAI” sends the image address to isgenai.com, which fetches the public file and reads its signed Content Credentials, AI labels in metadata and saved generation prompts.

See why, not just what

The side panel shows the headline, the basis for it (a signed record, a public label, a saved prompt) and the caveat that applies, so you know exactly what the result covers.

Private by default

Nothing is sent until you click. Checks create no public report unless you switch on “Create a public report link”. The extension never reads your browsing history.

Calmer social feeds

Optional: dim, hide or label posts that already carry a visible “Made with AI” style label on supported social sites. This runs locally and sends nothing to isGenAI.

How to use it

  1. Add the extension to Chrome and pin the isGenAI icon.
  2. Right-click an image and choose Check image with isGenAI, or open the side panel and choose Check this page.
  3. Read the result and its basis. For a deeper check of the original file, upload it on the AI image detector.

Permissions, in plain language

  • The feed filter script runs only on the supported social sites listed above.

Chrome extension questions

What does the isGenAI Chrome extension check?

Right-click an image and choose “Check image with isGenAI”. The extension sends that image’s web address to isGenAI, which fetches the public file and reads its Content Credentials (C2PA), AI labels in its metadata and any saved generation prompt. The side panel shows the result and the basis for it. You can also check the page you are on.

Does the extension upload my browsing history?

No. Nothing is sent until you click: the extension only sends the address of the image or page you choose to check. Checks are private by default and create no public report; tick “Create a public report link” in the side panel when you want a shareable report.

Read the privacy policy

Can it check images that are not on a public URL?

No. Images embedded in the page as data or blob addresses, images behind a login and browser-only pages have no public address isGenAI can fetch. Save the file and upload it on the AI image detector instead; uploads are private by default.

What does the feed filter do?

On supported social sites (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky and mastodon.social) it looks for visible AI labels such as “Made with AI” in posts, then dims, hides or labels those posts. It runs on your device, reads only visible text and sends nothing to isGenAI.

About the social feed filter

Is a “no AI signal” result proof that an image is real?

No. Many images lose their metadata and Content Credentials when they are re-saved or uploaded to social networks. A missing record means the evidence is not there to read, not that a person made the picture. isGenAI shows which checks ran so you can see exactly what the result covers.
