That impossible concert moment needs more than one camera.
A spectacular stage moment can travel farther than its source. Build a performance record before deciding whether a short clip documents what happened.
Identify the claim precisely
Does the post claim a performer said something, appeared beside someone, sang a new song or projected an unusual image? These questions require different evidence. An animated backdrop may be part of a real performance; a genuine concert recording may have a substituted soundtrack.
Write the relevant timestamp and preserve the caption. Search the artist and venue’s event coverage, then look for footage covering the same moment. Multiple accounts reposting one clip still represent one recording.
Compare independent views
Choose views with different camera positions and continuous lead-in. Compare stage layout, screens, clothing and the order of songs. Account for delays and edits before treating a timing difference as suspicious.
- Confirm the venue and event date through an official event listing or artist record.
- Find a longer version containing the moments before and after the claim.
- Compare at least one genuinely different view when available.
- Record whether the disagreement concerns sound, screens, people or the caption.
Use a still frame carefully
A still can help match the venue or compare screen content, but it cannot prove what the audience heard. isGenAI’s image checks apply to the extracted image, not the complete performance.
An unresolved clip can remain unresolved. A useful note identifies which independent footage was found and which part of the claim still lacks support. Avoid presenting silence from an artist or venue as proof that a clip was fabricated.
Put the next question to the file.
Choose the supported tool that fits your question. Keep the original source and save the output with your notes. Frame extraction, file-record inspection and still-image checks answer different questions; none alone authenticates a complete video or its audio.
