Image splitter: cut an image into a grid

Split any picture into equal tiles: halves, a 2 × 2 grid, a 3 × 3 Instagram grid or up to 20 rows and 20 columns. Preview every piece and download them one by one or all together as a ZIP. Free, instant, and nothing is uploaded.

Your image never leaves this browser. No upload, no account, no watermark.

PNG, JPEG or WebP · up to 20 MB and 40 million pixels

How to split an image

  1. Choose the image. Pick a PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 20 MB from your device.
  2. Set the grid. Enter rows and columns, or use a common grid such as 3 × 3 or a 1 × 3 carousel.
  3. Split and download. Check the preview, then save single tiles or the whole set as a ZIP of PNGs.

Exact, lossless tiles

Each tile is a lossless PNG cut straight from the decoded pixels, so nothing is resampled or blurred. When the width or height does not divide evenly by the grid, the leftover pixels are shared out so neighbouring tiles differ by one pixel at most, and the tiles fit back together exactly. Transparency in PNG and WebP images is kept.

Questions about splitting images

How do I split an image into equal parts?

Choose the image, enter the number of rows and columns, and select Split. The image is cut into that grid of PNG tiles. When the size does not divide evenly, the extra pixels are spread so edge tiles differ by at most one pixel and no pixel is lost or repeated.

How do I split a photo into a 3 × 3 grid for Instagram?

Pick the photo, select the 3 × 3 grid button and split. Post the nine tiles starting from the last one (row 3, column 3) so they line up on your profile. A square photo gives square tiles; crop it to a square first if needed.

Can I download all the tiles at once?

Yes. Select Download all as ZIP to save every tile in one file, named by row and column. You can also select any single tile to download only that piece.

Is my image uploaded when I split it?

No. The image is decoded and cut in your browser, on your device, and never reaches our server. The tiles are fresh PNG exports without the original file's metadata.
