NightCafe AI image detector: what the file reveals

NightCafe publishes no documentation we could find of Content Credentials, IPTC source types or saved prompts in its downloads as of October 2026, so isGenAI identifies a NightCafe image only from records found in the file or a matching copy.

AI source type declared

The file labels itself as AI-made.

IPTC DigitalSourceType such as trainedAlgorithmicMedia is read from XMP and shown with its exact value.

What is known

NightCafe offers many underlying models, from Stable Diffusion and SDXL derivatives to hosted commercial models. What reaches the download depends on NightCafe’s export pipeline, and we found no statement about it. The prompt is shown on the NightCafe creation page, but that is a web page, not a record inside the file.

An image saved from a NightCafe creation page may be a preview copy; the full download is the file to check.

What isGenAI reads

The checker validates C2PA manifests, reads IPTC DigitalSourceType from XMP, quotes AI statements in metadata, reads saved prompts in the AUTOMATIC1111, ComfyUI and InvokeAI formats and compares the hash and perceptual fingerprint with its records. Each finding names its field.

A file with none of these returns “no evidence found”. isGenAI does not guess from pixels.

Linking a file to its creation page

If the image is public on NightCafe, keep the creation page URL with the file. The page is a publisher statement you can cite; the file report is the evidence you can retrace. Together they are stronger than either alone.

The image SHA-256 checksum tool gives you a fingerprint to compare downloads across sources.

How to check an image from this generator

  1. Get the original download, not a screenshot or a copy saved from a chat or social feed.
  2. Upload it to the free AI image detector. Files up to 20 MiB in PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF or TIFF are read on the server and are private by default.
  3. Open “How we checked” and read each finding with its source field: signed record, declared source type, saved prompt, AI statement or matching copy.
  4. Treat a clean result as “no evidence found”, never as proof that a person made the picture.

Frequently asked questions

Does NightCafe add metadata to images?

We found no NightCafe documentation as of October 2026. Upload the full download; isGenAI reports any C2PA record, source type, AI statement or saved prompt it contains.

Is the prompt on the NightCafe page inside the file?

Not necessarily. The page shows the prompt; the file may or may not carry a record. isGenAI reports only what is in the file.

Is a NightCafe image detectable after a screenshot?

No. Screenshots carry no file records and isGenAI does not infer origin from pixels.

How do I compare two copies of a NightCafe image?

Use the image SHA-256 checksum tool for byte identity and the image metadata compare tool to see which records a copy lost.
