Transparent and partially transparent pixels are composited onto the chosen color. This removes the alpha transparency from the exported appearance; it does not remove the visible background of an opaque photo.

How do I give a transparent PNG a white background?

Is this a background remover?
No. It replaces alpha transparency with a solid color. It does not identify a subject or remove an existing opaque background from a photo.
