Extract an Image Color Palette
Find the most common approximate colors in an image and copy their hexadecimal values.
Your selected images stay in this browser. No AI model call or server upload.
Selected files: 0 · PNG, JPEG and WebP. Up to 8 MB per file and 12 million decoded pixels. Batch totals cannot exceed 40 MB. Exports are still images; animation is not retained.
Exported images do not carry the original saved prompts, EXIF or Content Credentials. Keep the original file when you need its creation records.
Visible pixels are grouped into 16 levels per RGB channel. The eight most frequent groups form the palette; percentages use nontransparent pixels only. These are quantized color groups, not exact original colors.
How to use this tool
- Choose an image with the colors you want to summarize.
- Run the palette extractor; no coordinates or color-count settings are required.
- Review up to eight swatches and their percentages. Copy the result data or download the palette as JSON for your design workflow.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the extracted palette differ from exact image colors?
The extractor groups each RGB channel into 16 levels and shows the center of each group. It returns the eight most frequent groups. For the exact decoded color at one location, use the image color picker.
Why do the palette percentages not add up to 100%?
Percentages use all nontransparent pixels as the denominator, but only the eight most frequent groups are displayed. If the image contains more groups, the omitted groups account for the remaining percentage.
