Frequently asked questions
How is contrast different from brightness?
Brightness adds or subtracts the same amount from color channels. Contrast moves channel values away from or toward the midpoint. Use brightness for an overall lightness change and contrast to change separation between darker and lighter values.
Will increasing contrast recover detail?
It can make existing differences easier to see, but it cannot restore lost information. Strong settings clip dark and light values, which can reduce detail. Review the preview before downloading.
